The company's founder HERMANN BAUER - an entrepreneurial person with vision

HERMANN BAUER, born in 1833 in Heilbronn, had to support his family at a young age by the early death of his father. As Stahlgraveurlehrling he soon his high talent and was commissioned to design the columns on the " Villa Berg " in Stuttgart. After his apprenticeship HERMANN BAUER deepened when abroad in Holland , London and Paris its expertise and was inspired artistically .

Back in Germany began in 1863 with the founding of the company history silverware workshop .

Inspired by his visit to the South Kensington Museum in London , and not least by his own apprenticeship - he wanted to train the gold -and silversmith apprentices not only technically , but also artistic in his new home . As a social entrepreneur and committed citizens HERMANN BAUER was co-founder of today's " Fachhochschule für Gestaltung " in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
